Lairig Ghru 2008 – Coach Option

In 2008 thanks to generous sponsorship from Absoft, we will be able to provide a coach to assist with the logistics of competing in the race.

Absoft's website can found at http://www.absoft.co.uk for anyone who wants to know a bit more about them.

The coach will be available at Aviemore after the race to take you back to the start at Braemar.

The coach will plan to depart at 5:00pm which should give everyone sufficient time to finish the race and get changed (possibly even showered – which would be nice) before the cut-off.

Thirty places are available on a first-come first-served basis.  Enquiries about availability of places etc should be made to the Race Organiser at rsdijkhuizen@hotmail.co.uk

In 2007 a number of runners booked seats but failed to take them up.  This is unfair on other runners and reduces the amount of money available to pass on to Cairngorm Mountain Rescue.

In 2008 therefore you must pay in advance to reserve your coach seat.   Please pre-enter both the race and add the £10 coach fee.

A confirmation email will be sent once the available places have been checked.  If no places are available, you will be offered the option of abandoning your entry and your entry and coach fee will be refunded.  Once your entry and coach place have been confirmed however the fees are non-refundable.

Rob Irvine will organise the coach on the day and you must sign-in with Rob at Braemar by 9:30 on race day if intending to use the coach.  Rob will be at Registration and will use the sign-on list to confirm numbers before the coach leaves Aviemore.  If you are not signed-on (regardless of pre-booking) the coach may leave without you.

Any kit which you might have should be sent to Aviemore via Deeside Runners (see main race page) where it will be held at the finish with everyone’s else’s kit.  It is your responsibility to collect your kit and take it with you onto the coach.
